The Frog
Keeper (April
2004)
This
was created in memory of my brother Gill. My brother Gill was an avid
collector of frog images. When he died in March 2003, a stone frog was
put on his final resting place. In this piece, I created a frog keeper.
to keep an eye over him. Gill, if you're out there, I just want you to
know that I miss you and I hope you're having a good time.
This
work was created
using Photoshop Elements. First I created the frog outline using an
impressionist brush, than I filled the frog with color and used two
separate filters on it. Next, I created the cloud background and placed
a gradient on it for some depth. I created my brother portrait and used
the Burn and Dodge tool for Depth. Finely I changed the transparency
level of his image to create a ghostly effect.
