May I
Scream Now? (September
2004)
This
is my scream. It can't be heard, but it's always there, lurking, trying
to get out, powered by it's friend, the nightmare dog and held back by
it's worst enemy, the toon fish. This one is a self portrait.
I
started this piece by
posing the man, the dog and the fish in DAZ|Studio, taking special care
on the expressions I gave them. I exported them into Bryce, positioned
them, changed the material of the toon fish and added some lighting. I
also added some ice, and buried the man inside it for some added
affect. I changed the color of the sky and lighting to achieve a toon
feel, then I rendered the scene. I opened the rendered scene in
Photoshop elements, where I erased the man's mouth using the clone tool
and some patterns I created by sampling pieces of his face and neck.
