Spheroid
Deconstruction of the Human Form

This is an exploration of the human body, of the various factors that influence it, of our relations with it and the way we might see it. This gallery is a work in progress, so come back often to check it out.

Techno

Technology have become part of our every day life. We use it without blinking, without thinking. This is about our relations with technology, about the place of technology in our life. Techno is a musical genre that combines the use of technology, the rhythm of the machine, with the most primitive of human heartbeats, the tribal dance. The term comes from a book by Alvin Toffler called The Third Wave. The term Techno Rebels refers to people taking technology into their hands, using it for their own purposes and humanizing it, making it part of their lives in ways that are unimaginable today.

Glass Meeting
Sub Conscience

We fight a constant internal battle. It's a battle against ourself, between our conscience mind and our sub conscience selfs. It's like splitting into two entities, one that we perceive as ourself and one which is our true self. It is said that when we lose that battle, we lose our mind. This is about the search for the sub conscience self, about the battle between sanity and insanity.

Time and Us

Time is elusive. It can't be touched, though we seem to feel it passing. It is a fourth dimension, all though we're not sure if it's possible to travel in it. It leaves it's mark, changes things constantly. It can be measured, but measurements differ relative to speed, energy and mass. In some ways, time is a surreal experience, changeable through art and music with the use of technology. Here you'll find some references to time, concentrating to the surrealistic effect of time and to the possible consequences of it.

Angr
Scull

Based on a scull model I created, the work in this gallery is a contemplation of life, death and the emotional turmoils created by the frustration of being aware of both.

3D Abstracts

Navigating through 3D space, I created some abstract shapes with an illusion of depth. While 3D software is often used to create realistic looking sci-fi and fantasy scenes, I chose in this series to create art that is as far removed from that genre as possible. The result is often surprising and unexpected.

Future Cats
Desktops

This is a gallery of experiments, created when I was learning how to use the Bryce software. Most of the works here where created strictly for fun and used as desktop images on my computer.

Portraits

Important note! the Amanda Hone portrait including all images used on the relevent page is copyrighted and can't be used without permission.

Creating a portrait of someone is more than just creating an image. When I create a portrait, I try to catch the essence of that someone, to represent who that someone is in a particular point in time and space. When I create a self portrait, I create a glimpse into my inner self, a snapshot into my thoughts and my feelings.

Interpretations

Important note! all the images used on this gallery are copyrighted and can't be used without permission.

In interpreting someones artwork, I create my own meaning, often different from the meaning of the original work. The works on this gallery where created for the EBSQ Annual Ripped Off shows (2004, 2005).

Back Alley Fish Gallery
Animal and Wildlife

A collection of works with the common theme of animals and wildlife, created throughout the years.

Mr. Couch Potato
Figure of Speech

The way we use language in different ways to create meaningful expression, presented through our use of common words in surprising connections that sometimes seem to be almost absurd, but are excepted by all.

2D Abstracts

Digital drawings created using the ArtRage software. The artworks in this series where hand painted into the digital canvas using nothing but a mouse.

New Art From Old Sketches

When I was at high school, I used to doodle on my notebooks. Fifteen years later, I took those old sketches and created new artworks from them, sometimes using the whole sketch and sometimes creating it from elements from those sketches.

Gradient
Contrast

Restricting myself to black and white square, I created nine works using geometrical shapes and sometimes text. On those works I created the illusion of movement. The work in this series is highly influenced by the kinetic art of the 1970's.

Rage
Red

Based on shades of red and orange, those are emotional collages created at a difficult time. They represent a transformation, stepping out of a dark place and into a lighter place.

Spirel X
Vector

When the computer draws a shape on the screen, it usually uses one of two methods, the raster method or the vector method. To understand the difference between the two methods, lets imagine the computer has to draw a 100x100 pixels sized square. On the raster method, the computer would have to know the exact location of every single pixel in the square as well as his color in order to draw the square. On the vector method, the computer would have to know only the location of the four corners of the square, the angle in which they connect and the color of the whole shape. The images in this gallery where created using the FreeHand software, using the vector drawing method.
